The 5 Second Rule
The 5 Second Rule
Hey friends. Want to know what this is? Well, read along. The mind-blowing tip to bring an immense change in your life. You might be wondering why I mostly talk about life. That’s because I’m into fixing mine and maybe some of you out there are looking for the same. Ok, so ready, steady- GO.
Whenever your instincts tell you what you should do, then 5-4-3-2-1 and
DO IT!
Otherwise, your brain will stop you…
Quite a meaningful thing, isn’t it? Using this 5-second
rule, you can bring major and minor changes to your life. Start by applying
this to get up early in the morning. You can also use this rule to
Change a behaviour
Avoid procrastination
In relationships, careers, workdays
In everyday acts of courage
Now that you know what to do, let me explain to you how this
works? Whenever you tend to do something to reach a goal- may it be a task or a
habit, your brain stops you from doing it.
Why does
our brain Stop Us?
Because it’s a sort of enemy. It wants to push you back when
you decide to accomplish something. It wants you to quit, delay or
procrastinate. Although it can be friendly at times. Nevertheless, it wants to
keep you in your comfort zone- and this is a losing place! You can never win in
your comfort zone. You have to get out of it even by using force.
You are hardwired to do those things easily which are
familiar to you and your brain. Relaxing, Eating and watching TV, chatting with
friends come to you without any trouble. But, if you want to achieve something,
then you have to fight your brains tendencies.
Whenever you think of changing yourself (taking a brave step
or doing something big) for the better, the other side of your brain gets
activated and looks for possibilities contrary to the requirement. So your
brain tricks you in many ways to stop you from taking any action. It makes you
ponder over your situation for a certain length of time that eventually you
give up and decide not to do whatever you ought to do in the first place.
Hesitation is the killer of dreams. So is overthinking. It
creates doubts in ourselves making us less likely to do what we ought to do. As
said before, our brain always wants us in ‘safe mode, so it thinks of what
failures could happen or why we shouldn’t do something. It creates in us the
fear of failure. The longer you think about something, the greater the
disharmony between your true instincts and your mind.
How to Use
the 5-Second Rule in Our Lives
Morning is Starter
Control your waking up early. As soon as your alarm sets off
and your eyes open, countdown in your mind 5-4-3-2-1 and shoot up. Force
yourself out of your duvets. Any delays will send you back under the covers
into a deep slumber.
After this get to work immediately. Don’t use electronics or
any gadgets because that will make you lose your focus. This is a common issue
with youth nowadays and they seriously have to get rid of it. Using too many
cell phones is a counter-productive habit.
Take 2-3 minutes brainstorming and prioritizing your tasks.
Have a deadline for your day. You’ll complete a task within a certain time.
This helps you to concentrate better. The morning 2-3 hours are the most
productive so take maximum benefit from it.
Sleep
Chemistry
Do you know that you sleep in cycles lasting 90-110 minutes
each? When your eye opens in the morning that is when a cycle has ended and
your body is preparing for getting up This is the right time to get up!
And if you doze off again, you’ll be in another sleep cycle.
You can only get up feeling fresh when a sleep cycle has completely ended. If
you wake up 15 minutes later, your poor mind will still be sleeping! Then
you’ll be in sleep inertia for the next 4 hours.
You’ll find your passion if you have the courage to explore!
1)
Curiosity is the first sign of passion
2)
If you feel envious or jealous of a subject, then
go deeper into it. What is it that you actually want?
3)
Then explore the reason- read books, watch videos,
have conversations
4)
If you fail after trying that's OK. The worst thing
is to become overage and regret that you didn’t go for it.
Never Leave Anything Important Unsaid
If something is really very
important to you, the worst thing you can do is to hide it and regret it later. Don’t
leave things unsaid or unexpressed, whether it is in a career, business or relationship.
Never fear rejection or upsetting someone. This rule will help you find the
potential in you. It will lead you to your opportunities.
This 5-second rule is all about pushing
yourself to make a change even if you don’t feel like it. “Humans are Feeling
Machines that Think.” We make decisions based on our feelings rather than on
logic. So we have to conquer these feelings and ACT otherwise we’ll fail. When
you have to do something, just don’t think about how you feel about it. Don’t wait
for the right time, right opportunity because there is none.
It’s now or never
If you fear or panic, your mind
will find a reason to validate this easy behavior. If it finds one-you’ll RELAX.
So, the more you choose courage, the more you’ll likely to succeed.
Thank You
