Self-help-How to be creative?

Can anyone be creative? Let me tell you… Exactly, everyone can be creative.

Creativity depends on how well your brain performs. Indeed, everyone has their own way of thinking. God has given everyone some sort of talent or potential.

Firstly, let’s understand what creativity is?

“Creativity is such a piece of work or an idea that has never existed before.”

So, it a brand new concept. A novel idea.

A MISCONCEPTION

Many people are mistaken. They think if they have created something by themselves, then that’s creativity. Not quite. That’s a limited thinking. Often, people will remember someone’s excellent piece of work and use it as a template to do their work. This is copying. Not creativity. Creativity is something that you have brought into existence.

HOW TO BE CREATIVE?

To be creative, you have to think about the things that people in your field of work or profession have done before. What are the existing trends and techniques? Then you’ll have to switch on your creativity bulb and come up with something brand new.

Example:  If you want to become a writer, you should-at first- learn as much vocabulary as you can and read many books to know what is already there. All the writers have done this- they first read many books to develop their vocabulary and from that information created something new. Creative writers simply have too many words- too many ideas to use in their own way.

Likewise, a person of any profession (designing, animation, video editing) should do the first thing- study vastly. Observe carefully the existing trends and techniques to know what is there and how it’s done? The next step is to be creative and think- ’What else can I do?’ So, the first question is” What new can I do?”

Now, if you don’t have ample information and knowledge In your mind, you won’t be able to come up with new ideas.

So I suggest that you keep a notebook in which you write about all the previous ideas- all the details about the work you are interested in. Observe carefully, and note down why you liked it?

HOW CAN CREATIVITY COME TO US EASILY?

Now, I am going to tell you something on which all of you will agree. Every one of us, including you and me, are always doing a few things tirelessly.

Example: We breathe every second. Our brain controls our breathing, but we Never ever get tired of it, do we? Do we ever say, “I’ve breathed too much today-want a break?” Sounds stupid, right.

Second example is of our native language. We speak our native language without even thinking about it although we haven’t learnt it anywhere.

WHY IS IT SO?

To understand this behavior you should know that our brain is made up of the conscious and the subconscious. The conscious part controls the actions that requires our full attention e.g. studying for exams, cooking, running etc…

The subconscious part controls those actions that do not require thinking and conscious efforts. So, obviously, you do not get tired of the things that are controlled by your subconscious brain.

HOW TO MASTER OUR CREATIVE THIKING?

So we come down to the question: How do we bring down any skill or action into our subconscious brain? Before answering this question, you should know that your subconscious brain analyses its data and strengthens itself when you are sleeping. That’s why getting proper amount of sleep is important to boost brain functions.

Here comes the interesting part? Whatever you do before sleeping enters Into your subconscious mind most easily.

A LIFETIME ASSAIGNMENT#

Do this exercise daily for 10 minutes before going to bed. Select a piece of your favorite work and just look at it. Observe it and Note down the things you like about it and give a reason why you liked it. Reasoning is important as well. Do nothing else. Just look at it. Observe and think.

This is a golden time IN which to get something fixed into your brain. Keep IN mind that there are no rules to being creative. So’ just think, think and think. Surely, you’ll notice a change your thinking within a couple of months.
